Pittsburg Police Chief Defends Officers After Lawyers Accusations During Murder Investigation

by ECT

On Wednesday, Pittsburg Police Chief Brian Addington issued a statement defending his officers after the attorney for murder defendant Jimmy Lee Biles Jr. called the investigation negligent in a press release.

On April 4, police responded to a residence on Hermosa Avenue on a reported stabbing where they found Albert King Lea Jr, (49) suffering from stab wounds to his body. He later died. Police investigated the incident which led them to the Town of Knightsen where they arrested Biles Jr.

On Tuesday, April 09, 2019, detectives presented the investigation to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.  Biles was later charged with Murder, use of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony and additional enhancements.  Bail for Biles was set at $2,190,000 and Biles remains in custody at the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office Main Jail in Martinez.

On Wednesday, criminal defense attorney Joseph Tully, issued the following media release:

My name is Joseph Tully, a criminal defense attorney with Tully & Weiss, and I will be representing Jimmy Lee Biles Jr., charged with allegedly murdering Albert Lea Jr., 49, on April 4 in Pittsburg, CA.

What is disturbing about this case is that there is evidence that Mr. Biles’ 12-year-old daughter had been lured away from his home by a child sex trafficker. Mr. Biles notified the Pittsburg police department of this information but was largely ignored. Being a concerned and loving father, Mr. Biles, who has a criminal history but who has since dedicated his second-chance to being sober, lawful, and responsible, followed up on information as to where his daughter was being held. At some point later that evening, a 12-year-old girl who had been drugged and repeatedly sexually abused was brought home.

There is also evidence that Pittsburg police in investigating the homicide neglected, either negligently or intentionally, clear signs that the 12-year-old had been drugged and repeatedly sexually abused while she was being held at the location of the alleged homicide, despite her being in their custody and vigorously questioned by officers for a substantial period of time. Had the Pittsburg police conducted a proper investigation, they would have found that the girl was provided drugs, had used condoms her purse, as well as blood in the crotch area of her pants. This evidence is now most likely destroyed or unusable.

The arraignment of Mr. Biles is 1:30 PM on Wednesday April 10th, 2019 in Pittsburg, CA at the Pittsburg Superior Court. 1000 Center Drive Pittsburg, CA 94565.

Please call the Tully & Weiss office at 925-###-#### if you would like to speak with Joseph Tully regarding this matter.

Regards,

Joseph Tully

Chief Addington responded to the allegations saying the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office  reviewed this case and filed murder charges against Jimmy Biles. His bail was set at $2,190,000.

“Earlier today, the attorney for Mr. Biles made claims against the Pittsburg Police Department. The Pittsburg Police Department conducted a very thorough and complete investigation. The comments made by Mr. Biles’ attorney are misguided and designed to minimize the brutal and senseless murder Mr. Biles stands charged of. l have complete confidence in the District Attorney’s office as they prosecute Mr. Biles for murder.

Deputy District Attorney Aron DeFerrari, the prosecutor who reviewed and filed the case against Mr. Biles, noted “The case against Defendant Biles was thoroughly and professionally investigated by the Pittsburg Police Department.  Working under tremendously difficult and tragic conditions, Detectives and patrol officers from Pittsburg Police worked tirelessly to solve this senseless murder.   Recent claims by Defendant Biles’ attorney that he was acting in defense of his daughter when he senselessly murdered the Victim, Mr. Lea, who had nothing whatsoever to do with the defendant’s daughter, are as baseless as they are desperate.  Rather than try this case in the press, we are confident the evidence will make plain  in a court of law that Defendant Biles murdered a complete stranger out of senseless rage.”

Of course their stupid police will defend their own even when they know they are in the wrong. Anyone saying police are innocent are delusional, they are humans and not every single one of them are competent or even logical in there behavior. They assert dominance in almost every situation and are just trigger happy POS.

Police are not always innocent nor competent. However, with more than one officer interviewing the daughter about her health and relationship with the victim, I find the accusations hard to believe. Almost all police find sex-trafficking underage girls a vile conduct.

Anything that involves a police officers involvment. Consider the out come to be a big fat negative. Cops do whatever they want & unfortunatly they get away with 99% of their illegal acts. “Protect & Serve” thats not for those of us that dont have a badge. That statement is clearly for the ones who do have a badge.
Those who are out there pointing fingers on who did their job or who didnt. Why dont you take a deeper look at the 12 year old little girl that will carry this horriable baggage with her for the rest of her life. The fact that she was drugged & molested is unethical. The fact that the Pittsburg Police were called but did nothing is unethical. The fact that a man sits in jail right now because the 12 year old girl was not their daughter and to the police its just paperwork. But for the father of the 12 year old. It was an that wasnt unheard of. If I were the fathers shoes, I doubt I would of ever called the police. I would of taken that pedifilers last breath and slept like a baby ever night. The father is a hero not a criminal. As for the police department go’s along with the DA. You need to put your time and energy into finding a solution to this problem. Not use it to cover up your negelance or pull a past record on a man whos a hero not a zero. If it were your daughter this had happened to. How would this case been handled? I guarantee there would of been no arrests for murder. But there would of been a death. There would of never been a defident for molestation charges. You cant charge a dead man for a crime. My thoughts and prayers to the 12 year old girl and her father.
