When officers arrived at the scene they located a 25 year-old male gunshot victim in the street, and a 20 year-old male gunshot victim near the front of a residence.  Officers immediately provided first aid to the victims until ambulance and Contra Costa County Fire paramedics arrived.  Paramedics transported both victims to a local area trauma center.

The 25 year-old victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries, and the 20 year-old victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival and was not located.  Currently, this homicide is under investigation and evidence is being collected.

According to a source, the incident occurred during a birthday party inside a home with one person shot in the head and another wounded.

Of all the Birthday Parties I have been to, not once has there been gun shots. People need to ask, what the hell is going on? We act like it is just bad luck.

Lola, a 20 year old kid just got murdered and that’s what you have to say? You’re a pathetic disgrace. Good thing you use a fake name or else you’d get exposed.

She was being facetious Jeremy. She isn’t shocked at all.

Yea, no sh*t Julio. She’s a troll and shouldn’t be facetious the day after someone’s kid/family/friend got murdered. Period. She should stick to “thoughts and prayers” cliche.

Who was the 25 year old? We need more information, all information is needed when asking for help in these things.. but if you know Antioch at all you damn well you just don’t hang out on 19th and D street for any other reason then and unless you with it! And believe that it’s no game over there regardless good kid or not he knew where he was at

I will be praying for this family but I would also ask that we pray for this generation also. My kids went to school with this man since kindergarten and are having to face their own mortality way to early in life. My heart goes out to all of those feeling this loss. RIP Casey. You will be missed.

i don’t know the circumstances of this incident. The article does not lead me to believe that either of the victims had any weapons at all. Maybe you know more than I do but if you are just making assumptions based on their age and the location of the incident I will pray for you also. Either way your comments might be saved for a time when grieving friends and family might not be further hurt by your words. I know of no circumstance where the loss of a young life is not a very sad statement on all of society.
