Oakley: Firefighters Working a “Floating Dock” Fire in Dutch Slough

At 9:30 pm Wednesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire off Jersey Island Road near Dutch Slough in the City of Oakley.

By 9:45 pm, Engine 53 reported the fire was in the middle of the slough across from the 2100 block of Dutch Slough Road and was burning tulles.

A fire boat was requested to the scene which was coming from Pittsburg.

By 9:50 pm, BC5 reported this was actually a floating dock on fire in the middle of the slough moving with the current.
