Kamala Harris Statement on Supreme Court Nomination

by ECT

WASHINGTON, D.C.U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris (D-CA), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, on Saturday released the following statement following President Trump’s nomination of U.S. Circuit Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court of the United States:

“The Supreme Court has a profound impact on the rights of all Americans. As a U.S. Senator and member of the Judiciary Committee, I have a duty to ensure that a Supreme Court nominee will uphold the law and has a demonstrated commitment to equal justice. Americans across the country are already casting votes, and we will soon know the president and senators who will be sworn in next January. We must respect Americans’ voices and allow the winners of the election to nominate and confirm the next Supreme Court Justice.

“From day one, President Trump made clear that he had a litmus test for Supreme Court Justices – destroy the Affordable Care Act’s protections for people with preexisting conditions and overturn our right to make our own health care decisions.

“President Trump, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans will stop at nothing to destroy the Affordable Care Act’s protections for 130 million Americans with preexisting health conditions. The devastating coronavirus pandemic has already killed more than 202,000 Americans, and sickened millions more, yet President Trump is fighting in the Supreme Court right now to strike down the only law guaranteeing Americans can access the health care they need. Republicans are desperate to get Judge Barrett confirmed before the Supreme Court takes up this case in November and millions of Americans will suffer for their power play.

“Just yesterday, I paid my respects to the legendary Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who devoted her life to fighting for Equal Justice Under Law and a more fair and just world. Her passing is devastating, and it would be a travesty to replace her with a justice who is being selected to undo her legacy and erase everything she did for our country.

“I have been proud to represent the people throughout my entire career. With the next Supreme Court Justice set to determine the fate of protections for those with preexisting health conditions, and reproductive health options, I will continue to fight on behalf of the people and strongly oppose the president’s nomination.”

This racist, cheating, adulterous, corrupt piece of trash is all that is wrong with our country!!

I second that Sep 26, 2020 - 4:15 pm

I agree. She supports BLM, but distroyed a black family when she slept (affair) with Mayor Willy Brown (SF) to advance her political career. She has more skeletons than Slick Willy Clinton.

You mean as contrasted with Donald Trump, that paragon of “family values” and personal morality?

Darcy Jennings Sep 29, 2020 - 11:58 pm

That Willie “DUH MAYOR” Brown! San Francisco started to go down the tubes when during hi tenure.

Poor San Francisco! Losers for mayors! Look at the lineup! All left-wingers who started the ruination of my native city. Then there was the Chinaman who was controlled by the city’s elite .. and today we have another idiot (with the name of a city) with nothing whatsoever to recommend her. Another puppet-on-a-string.

How come Kammie Harris didn’t chide Ruth Bader Ginsburg for not upholding the law but LEGISLATING from the bench?

Kammie made a total ass of herself during the Kavanaugh hearings.

Judge Amy Coney Barrett will totally demolish Kammie.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg has actually been dead for over 10 years, but just propped up in her USSC chair. Kind of reminds me of the scene in “PSYCHO” where the woman goes into the basement and sees the skeletal remains of Normal’s mother, dressed and in a chair… and screams bloody murder.

Where is the Biden-Harris Plan of Action. I haven’t heard jack. Just yadda yadda yadda about Trump. Biden just not strong enough candidate. Not a Trump fan either but the dems should have figured out a better candidate than some old dude.

Stac Sep 27, 2020 - 3:25 am

Trump is only 2 years younger yhan Biden. So there is only a choice of an old dude. so your point. Trump is an idiot. He doesnt even have the vocabulary of a kindergardner. The world is watching this mockery and at this point Canada has said, “It is like witnessing the fall of the Roman Empire”. Sad to say that is very true. If Trump is reelected, you can bet ur as_, this will be 50 countries and no longer United. He is the begining of the great fall. Only an old man with years of international dealings has any chance to bring us off our knees and restore our far reaching powers. Trump has fed into Russia and China. Trust me when I say they are laughing. He trries so hard to be one of them, but fails to see they are only using him.

Wow-Stac
YOU Seriously need to leave YOUR mommies basement – like immediately

YOU do realize they didn’t mean you had to stay in the basement all day every day for the rest of your life
PAY ATTENTION “REALITY” is not that hard
Put down the liberal poison cool aid!!

Try to do better!!!

Robert C. Sep 28, 2020 - 6:19 pm

Fake, can’t you at least come up with a new line? That one is getting old. As usual, you hurl childish insults instead of discussing facts.

Peter Albertson Sep 27, 2020 - 8:00 pm

Biden is in early states of DEMENTIA – – well, maybe more than early – – and he’s on meds to slow it down, but it’s not working. Biden can’t tell the difference between his wife and his sister. He goes around licking little girls’ faces!

The whole idea of running Biden is to let Kamala become president. Biden has major health problems. He has also not done much during his 40+ years in politics and he’s always been thought as rather dull. This is the reason Obama chose him for VP because that was Obama’s INSURANCE POLICY against an impeachment or worse.

Hey Stac! That PRESIDENT Trump to you, Bucko! You obviously have never been out of the country and traveled recently to foreign lands and heard what people there say about PRESIDENT Trump! They wish THEIR leaders had the balls Trump has. Instead, they have lukewarm leaders with no leadership qualities.

I can’t wait for November 3rd when you start crapping in your pants. Go out and buy some BROWN ONES!

owen Sep 27, 2020 - 5:00 am

Kamala has a laugh, a cackle that is symptomatic of untreated bipolar disorder. She goes into a “manic” laugh, this howling shriek, torso-shaking giggle, eyebrow furrowed scream that is so loud and phony it horrifies those around her as well as bystanders miles away. Look on YouTube for videos of her laugh. It’s all you have to know about the presidential candidate with a 3% approval.

Jg Sep 28, 2020 - 8:43 am

Harris Biden needs a reality check.

Pastor Maynard Sep 28, 2020 - 5:15 pm

My fellow republicans, what’s interesting about all this is that while Harris was DA of San Francisco, the felony rate in California went from 50% to 76% percent. In other words, Harris’ authority resulted in the accelerated incarceration of drug dealers. This is why she ran unopposed in 2007 because her track record as a law enforcer was so strong. Isn’t this the “law & order” that my fellow republicans have been seeking this whole time? It’s obvious that our current nation’s descent into chaos is a direct result of The Trump administration’s strategic inabilities.

Saying Biden is too old just doesn’t cut it as a good argument when you consider this.

Pastor Maynard Sep 28, 2020 - 5:17 pm

* felony conviction rate went from 56 percent in 2003 to 74 percent in 2006 while Harris served as DA. Trump’s “law & order” is obviously a sham.

Roxanne Fox Sep 29, 2020 - 2:28 am

Oh yeah! While Harris was smoking pot like it was going out of style (it was not legal in 2003 to 2006), she made sure that your black brethren got strict and long sentences for doing the same thing! What a gal!

Robert C. Sep 28, 2020 - 6:17 pm

Harris was DA of San Francisco County (only). You’re trying to say that her tenure there resulted in a 50% “felony rate” (your term) increase for the entire STATE? Your facts are questionable.

Pastor Maynard Sep 28, 2020 - 6:41 pm

Robert, you are correct. I attempted to correct that in the second post, but i think I made the mistake twice. The percentages and years are correct, for San Francisco. A definite microcosm of many of our nation’s issues, and definitely speaks more to her law enforcement leanings rather than the opposite.

Robert C. Sep 29, 2020 - 7:37 am

Pastor, for once we agree on something! I also think that Harris has been unfairly painted as a “radic-leftist” by the Trumpers. While I can’t say I’m a Harris fan, I’d rather see her (or Biden) in the WH than the current idiot.

Truscott Sep 29, 2020 - 11:33 pm

What a joke. Kamala is THE person who refused to seek the death penalty for admitted/convicted cop killers. She is the last thing from strong. She was the one who started SF’s slide into the feces capital of America. Yuk

Robert C. Sep 30, 2020 - 8:26 am

Oh, Truscott, Kamala Harris didn’t start the slide. That credit is shared by 40 years of ineffectual progressive-left local government.

That’s why the phrases “San Francisco Board of Supervisors,” “Oakland Mayor” and “Berkeley City Council” provoke eye-rolling and laughter in most of the rest of the United States. Their collective philosophy is “if our policy isn’t working, it must be because we need more of it.” Bay Area local govenment just will not learn from its own mistakes.
