Update: 21 People Displaced After Vegetation Fire in Byron

Just after 5:00 pm Wednesday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire in the 12000 block of Byron Highway near Point of Timber in the Town of Byron.

A large column of smoke was reported as units were responding.

By 5:18 pm, Engine 59 arrived on scene to vegetation on fire with structures threatened on both sides of the fire.

By 5:26 pm, mutual aid had been requested as at least two structures were on fire including a mobile home. A few minutes later, a third structure was also on fire.

UPDATE
The property had a total of 5 residences on it and due to the fire, power was disconnected. They will be allowed to return upon power being restored.

How does that make 21 people displaced? I only read 5 were
