On Tuesday afternoon, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of a firearm located on the campus of Antioch High School in the City of Antioch.
Police confirmed a firearm was recovered on campus which was located in a bag at the school. They said it was unknown where it came from or who it belonged to and offered no other details.
Police could not confirm if this firearm was related to an overnight foot pursuit in the area.
According to the District, a custodian located the firearm near the football field and within minutes contacted the Antioch police Department who removed it from campus. It then became a police matter and they would not be releasing any other information.
The Antioch Unified School District is currently on summer break and the first day of school is August 4.
