On July 4, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District reported that over a 6 hour time period, there were a reported 37 fires. They also stated that 5 of them were confirmed linked to fireworks, but noted it was likely the majority, if not all, were results of fireworks.
In this video, we focus on the two larger incidents which one occurred in the City of Antioch off Wildhorse where a firework explosion resulted in multiple spot fires. The second, in the City of Pittsburg at W. 3rd and Harbor where a firework resulted in a vegetation fire just over and acre. In this video, as firefighters work to put out the fire, you can see fireworks still going on behind them.
Remember, law enforcement has taken a zero tolerance stance on illegal fireworks.

That picture says it all. How ignorant, selfish, and inconsiderate would you have to be to continue shooting off fireworks when the firefighters are already risking their lives to contain the problem? The big “celebrators” care nothing for their neighborhoods or their towns.

If any person is caught, they should charge them for Arson. That is absolutely ridiculous.
