Congressman DeSaulnier Statement on Passage of War Powers Resolution

by ECT
Rep Mark DeSaulnier

Washington, DC – Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) made the following statement after a resolution “directing the President pursuant to section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution to terminate the use of United States Armed Forces to engage in hostilities in or against Iran” passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 224-to-194:

“The President’s ‘ask for forgiveness, not for permission’ attitude has once again put the world in serious jeopardy. The President alone does not have the power to authorize acts of war. For almost two decades, Presidents have been exploiting a law passed in the wake of 9/11 intended to protect our country, not intended to open unlimited power for the President. The Constitution gives Congress the explicit right to declare war. I supported this critical legislation and have been working with my colleagues, including Congresswoman Barbara Lee, on sunsetting this outdated 9/11 law,” said Congressman Mark DeSaulnier.

Gee are we surprised that Desuck would side along with the Iranians and terrorists. If we were to depend on these dems to look out for Americans that would be another surprise. Maybe they just send them billions more.

And once again Mark votes for some useless resolution that resolves nothing and is going nowhere. What a feeling of accomplishment & worth he must have! Well, time to get back to removing Trump from office…(that isn’t going to happen either).

Obozo actually gave the Iranians over $165 BILLIONS in the middle-of-the-night, so no one would call him on it. We should have made Iran into a parking lot in 1989 after our citizens were held hostage, jailed and tortured there for 444 days, with Jimmeh Carter doing shit about it. It took Reagan to get our people out. Iran should have been leveled long ago.

Sad to see Mark can not tell the difference between a terrorist and a statesman. Not an act of war Mark. Go back to staring at your cell phone awaiting orders from your Party.
