Ceasefire Night Walk Held in Antioch Aimed at Reducing Gun Violence

by ECT

On Friday night, members of the community joined the Central and East Contra Costa County Ceasefire for a night walk in City of Antioch with the mission is to work on reducing gun violence across the community.

The  faith based organizations and the community will continue to work together to expand the program and messaging to help take guns off the street.

Well intentioned but I doubt a walk down a street is gunna change a single thing. They need to get in touch with the kids at school, the ones who are most likely to follow in the footsteps. The ones doing the shootings are already lost causes.

By the time they are in school, it’s too late.

Well, while this isn’t doing one bid of good, at least they got some much-needed exercise. What would work is getting parents to instill positive values in their kids from the time they are toddlers.

There have been these walks through Sycamore, as well as Cavallo Road and El Pueblo in Pittsburg. Put your money where your mouth is, come on out to the next one, which by the way is going to be in Pittsburg then again on “the dreaded” Sycamore Drive in Antioch. Rather than sitting on your ass and making your “peanut gallery” comments.

I don’t go out and march! Remember, how many people DON’T come out and do that! And …… I can make any comment I want and I don’t sit on my ass, I stand at the computer. And, who are YOU to dictate to people what they can or cannot post!

I’d like to see them schedule their CEASE FIRE walks through SYCAMORE and also CAVALLO areas! Forget the 18th and A Street areas! Walk where the gunfire is frequently heard!

I would love to but my bullet proof vest is in the dry cleaners.

Simonpure, well if that is the case, your “bullet proof vest” is ruined … hahaha ! I guess you can wear that with your empty “open carry” gun in your holster. But that’s right, you are probably “Quick Draw McGraw” who can load it in a moment’s notice and shoot the dastardly individual after they used a loaded one on you first.
