Brentwood: Overturned Vehicle Crash on Deer Valley Road Near Empire Mine Road

At 12:31 pm Monday, Contra Costa County Fire was dispatched to a report of an overturned vehicle on Deer Valley Road near Empire Road in unincorporated Brentwood.

It was reported that at least two people were trapped in the vehicle.

Engine 82 arrived on scene by 12:40 and reported that there was a vehicle on its side with multiple patients inside. They were alert and conscious. They were working to stabilize the vehicle.

The roadway has been shut down in both directions.

By 12:57 pm, both patients were extricated from the vehicles–senior citizens.

Just after 1:00 pm, firefighters were working to clear the scene and the roadway was opening shortly.

Multiple “”patients” inside? LMAO! This was a hospital delivery vehicle? How do you know they were “patients?” Were they on their way to a medical appointment with their doctor?

Bob, anyone in an overturned vehicle is considered a patient. Simple as that and most assuredly the Captain gave that as his size-up, “we have two patients”.

Bob, When medical (EMTS) are involved in getting them out, they are referred to as patience.

Amanda. Accident victims are not referred to as “patience”. They are patients as Bob said.
