Brentwood: Firefighters Battle Vegetation Fire on Deer Valley Road

At 9:46 pm Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire in the area of Balfour Road and Deer Valley Road in Brentwood.

While responding, Engine 52 reported flames showing from Balfour and upon arrival, reported a wind driven fire with approximately 5-10 acres on fire which was on both sides of the roadway. They also requested law enforcement block off the road at both Deer Valley and Balfour along as well as Deer Valley at Marsh Creek.

Both CALFIRE and Contra Costa County Fire are providing aid on this incident.

10:08 pm UPDATE:
Battalion 5 reporting the fire was at approximately 15-20 acres.

10:38 pm UPDATE
Fire contained to approximately 15 acres. Extensive mop up.

Just wait until July 4th . . it’s getting drier and drier here and the winds are blasting.
