Antioch Man Arrested in December Pittsburg Fatal Shooting

The Pittsburg Police Department announced Friday that Mark Anthony Thomas, 35 of Antioch, was arrested in connection with a December 14 homicide in the City of Pittsburg.

According to Police, on December 14, 2019, the Pittsburg Police Department was notified of a person who was shot inside of a residence in the 200 block of Havenwood Circle. At the time of the incident, the victim, along with his wife and children, were present when two armed gunmen entered the residence and shot the victim following a brief struggle.

Detectives began working the case immediately and painstakingly poured over many leads and pieces of evidence until they were able to identify one of the shooters involved in the homicide.

That shooter has been identified a 35 year old Mark Anthony Thomas from Antioch.

On February 4, 2020, Thomas was located at a residence in the 5000 block of Ranch Hallow Way (Antioch) and arrested by  Pittsburg Police. He is currently in custody in Martinez on murder charges.

Very happy to read that an arrest was made. This case has been really bothering me. To do that and leave six kids without their parent is unforgivable. Wish California still had the death penalty. If anyone deserves it, it is this guy if he is the one. Hope the rest of the family is hanging in there.
