by ECT

At 6:32 pm Monday, Contra Costa County firefighters were dispatched to a report of two victims who sustained burns after hot water spilled on them on Niccolite Ct in the City of Antioch.

It was reported that one victim was approximately a 1-year-old child who had burns to the abdominal area and another was a 50-year-old female with burns on her thigh.

Firefighters arrived on scene requesting a medical helicopter after it was determined the child (approximately 19-lbs) sustained 2nd degree burns to the chest and abdomen.

It was later determined the second patient was the child’s mother.

The medical helicopter was dispatched to Hillcrest Terrace off Deer Valley Road to transport both the child and the mother to UC Davis Medical Center.

No further details were available.
