Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating another shooting on Hwy. 4 near Bay Point Friday, a lieutenant said.

The incident was reported near Bailey Road around 9 p.m.

The driver of a westbound pickup truck got off the highway and pulled over after hearing a pop and found a hole in the back window.

A female victim was struck by flying glass and transported to a hospital as a precaution.

“The important part is that everyone was okay, luckily,” Lt. Ian Hebert said.

There have been more than 20 shootings on East Bay highways in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties since November.

And seeing CHP along HWY 4 is rare these days. If you do see them they are parked by a construction zone taking a nap or looking in their lap
