Weekend Events Preview: Bounty of the County Highlights Weekend Happenings

East County residents have a few events to choose from this weekend as Assemblyman Jim Frazier kicks things off Saturday morning with a Coffee Talk at Dino’s Sandwich Shop followed by attending a Child Safety Seat Inspection at the Brentwood Senior Center.

On Sunday, the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds & Event Center invites you to join us in our newest event, the Bounty of the County. We hope to showcase all that the beautiful Contra Costa County has to offer, through the display of local wine, farmers market favorites, arts, crafts, restaurants, and much more.

Friday, September 27th

Eat Real Festival,  Jack London Square, 481 Water St, Oakland. September 27-29th. Eat it. Make it. Grow it. We believe that good, fresh, delicious food is something to be celebrated, so we created an annual party called the Eat Real Festival. With a focus on food craft, street food, handcrafted beers and local wines – all featuring sustainable local ingredients – we showcase food in all its different forms. Tacos inspired by flavors from around the world, curry, BBQ, hot dogs, ice cream, noodles, and a whole lot more of the Bay Area’s awesome curbside eats. The Eat Real Festival celebrates all things tasty, fresh, and handmade with a focus on street food, local wines, handcrafted beers, and traditional food craft – all featuring sustainable, local ingredients. And no dish costs more than $5. Entry to the festival is 100% free.Friday: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday: 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday: 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Coffee Talk with Assemblyman Jim Frazier, Assemblyman Jim Frazier will be at Dino’s Sandwich Shop, 729 First St. in Brentwood, on Sept. 28 from 8 to 10 a.m. for coffee and conversation.  The pastries, coffee and juice are free and this is a great opportunity to discuss concerns you have about the community

Child Safety Seat Inspection, Come learn about child safety seat laws and receive a child safety seat inspection by the California Highway Patrol.10:30 a.m. – 1:30p.m. at the Brentwood Senior Center, 193 Griffith Lane, Brentwood.

4th Annual SUPERHERO STREET FAIR, Mission District, San Francisco. Entrance: Indiana St. (1700 Indiana, SF 94124) @ Cesar Chavez. Experience adventure heroes and villains within an urban theatrical landscape, a day full of worm-holes and time machines, spy gadgetry and visual explosions, fantasy and reality played out on a colossal stage where captivating displays of human feats will entrance and amaze you! Donation Only: $10 in Costume, $20 in Clark Kent

 

Sunday, September 29th

Bounty of the County, The Contra Costa County Fairgrounds & Event Center invites you to join us in our newest event, the Bounty of the County. We hope to showcase all that the beautiful Contra Costa County has to offer, through the display of local wine, farmers market favorites, arts, crafts, restaurants, and much more. This Sunday evening event will take place in the Front Park of the Fairgrounds.

* Event Hours: Sunday September 29th 2:00pm – 6:00pm
* Admission: $5 at the gate
$15 tasting package: includes admission to the event, 5 drink tokens, and a souvenir wine glass
Additional drink tokens 5 for $10
