Update: Pittsburg Police Arrest 17-Year-Old in Homicide Shooting

The Pittsburg Police Department announced Monday afternoon that detectives identified and arrested a 17-year-old suspect in a shooting that killed one man, and injured two others. The suspect is a Pittsburg High School student.

The suspect was arrested in class this morning without incident.  He is currently in custody at Juvenile Hall on murder charges for his involvement in this case according to Police.

Original Release:

The Pittsburg Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday evening in the 200 Block of Auburn Drive.

Shortly after 10:00 pm Sunday, Pittsburg Police officers responded to a call regarding shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located three adult males suffering from gunshot wounds.   All three victims were transported to local hospitals.

According to Pittsburg Police Captain Ron Raman, one of the victims has died from his injuries and the other two are listed in stable condition.

Police say the victims were at the location for a social gathering at a nearby residence.  The victims were on the street in front of the location when they were confronted by at least one suspect (Suspect was not associated with the gathering).  The suspect fired several shots at the victims and fled the location prior to police arrival.  Investigators are conducting interviews with witnesses and working on active leads on this case.

Based on our investigation to this point, the victims were the intended targets of the shooting.  All three victims are Pittsburg residents.

OMG What is wrong with these kids? It goes on and on. Will there be riots about this one? I doubt it.

Julio, there will not be riots because a white Police Officer was not involved. The hoodlums don’t care if blacks kill blacks or Hispanics kill Hispanics. But it is unreasonable for a white cop to kill a person of color because he is committing a crime.
