Update: Heavy Rain and High Winds Hit Bay Area

Rain and wind has hit the Wednesday morning commute and is slowing traffic across the San Francisco Bay Area.

As of 5:00 am, there was already one accident impacting traffic on Sr242 N / Concord Ave.

On Tuesday, the NWS has issued a High Wind Warning for the coast and hills above 1000 feet and a Wind Advisory for the interior valleys of the North & East Bay, the Santa Clara Valley, and the Salinas Valley from 10 pm tonight to 10 am Thursday.

The storm should reach the Bay Area by Tuesday night and continue into Thursday.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for 10:00 pm Tuesday through 10:00 am Thursday with a potential for widespread shallow landslides, rockslides and debris flows.
