Update: ECCFPD “Measure A” Passes in Special Mail Ballot Election

On Wednesday, Contra Costa County Elections provided final results from the March 6 special Mail Ballot Election which included East Contra Costa Fire Protection District’s Measure A.

The measure passed with 90.46% support.

  • Yes -10,605
  • No – 1,119

There were a total of 11,072 votes cast out of a possibile 64,351 — or 18.29% voter turnout.

With voter approval, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District fire board will shrink from 9-appointed members down to 5-elected members.

What a poor voter turn out how ever you look at it. What a waste of money by the district to get to this point. Hopefully this waste is over. Could have kept a station open for what these last elections cost.

The waste is even more because they are violating the voters rights act by not having District’s or wards to fairly represent the voters. They knew this too. All said, a voted in board will be a refreshing positive new start for the troubled district.

Get the new people in before they creat more Administrators. Already 1 new Battalion Chief and 1 New Buisness Manager. Why not more firefighters
