Update: Concord Man Arrested for Walnut Creek Murder

On March 8, at 6:52 PM the Walnut Creek Police Department received a phone call regarding a disturbance and possible assault at a construct ion site in the 1800 block of Ygnacio Valley Rd. Officers arrived at that location within seven minutes, but quickly determined that the initial report of the location was incorrect.

Officers eventually determined that the incident occurred somewhere near the 1800 block of Lacassie Ave and responded to that location to search for the involved parties. At approximately 7:19 PM, officers located a 60 year old victim, who had life threatening injuries. Officers and Medical personnel provided life saving measures however, the male did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 34 year old male was immediately detained at the scene. Officers and Detectives are actively working the case and interviewing the detained subject and witnesses. No one else was injured and no suspects are outstanding.

DATE / TIME OCCURRED: March 8, 2018 at 6:52 p.m.

LOCATION: 1800 block of Lacassie Avenue, Walnut Creek

CRIME DESCRIPTION / CODE: PC 187 – Murder

SUSPECT: Hakim Madjour – 34 year old male from Concord

On 3/8/18, at 6:52 p.m., Walnut Creek Police Department officers responded to a construction site on the 1800 block of Lacassie Avenue regarding a possible assault. Officers arrived and located a 60 year old victim lying on the ground suffering from severe head wounds. Medical personnel provided life saving measures but the victim did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers also contacted and detained Hakim Madjour who was located near the victim.

Based on the investigation, Officers and Detectives learned Madjour and the victim knew each other and were both working as security guards at the construction site. Evidence indicates Madjour violently and unexpectedly attacked the victim which led to his death. The suspected murder weapon (a large metal pole) was recovered from the crime scene as well as other evidence. Madjour was arrested for 187 PC – Murder and transported from the crime scene to the John Muir Medical Center and treated for minor injuries. Madjour was ultimately transported to the Martinez Detention Facility where he was booked and is currently being held on $1,000,000 bail.
