Update: 5 People Shot at Pittsburg Birthday Party, Oakley Man Arrested

Just before 11:00PM last night, officers responded to the 100 block of Madoline Street for a shooting call.  Officers located 5 shooting victims, male adults, that were all transported to local hospitals and are listed in stable condition.

The suspect in this case, 23 year old Oakley Resident, was arrested and transported to county jail.  He is charged with several felony crimes including assault with a deadly weapon

According to Pittsburg Police Captain Ron Raman, the victims and suspect were at the residence for a birthday celebration.

“Prior to the shooting the suspect and the group of individuals he came with were asked to leave the party.  As a result a physical altercation ensured with the the group the suspect came to the party with and a few of the victims.  The suspect removed a firearm and started shooting the victims.  The suspect was detained by individuals at the party for officers when they arrived,” said Raman.

Detectives have interviewed several witnesses and are conducting follow up on this case.  More information will be provided as it becomes available.
