This week, the Brentwood Union School District has had two teams competing in the World Finals of Odyssey of the Mind at Iowa State University.

According to Dana Eaton, Superintendent of the BUSD, the 5th graders from Pioneer Elementary placed 15th in the world where they competed in the Problem 2, Division 1. The 3rd graders from Brentwood Elementary School placed 28th in Problem 1, Division 1.

“We are so proud of these students and the community that supported them. These elementary students were able to raise over $13,000 through the generosity of the community of Brentwood.  They were then able to participate in an international competition on a college campus, while living in dorms and meeting other students from around the world. The lessons from this experience will be long and strong,” said Eaton.
