by ECT

Two people wanted in connection for the murder of a 68-year-old Tulare woman were arrested Saturday afternoon in the Town of Discovery Bay.

Tulare police and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant in Discovery Bay where they arrested Jimmy Ansiel Jr.,42, of Tulare and Tara Leeann Steinman, 42, of Nevada in connection in the murder.

According to radio traffic, Ansiel was taken into custody around 4:35 pm after police began a door-to-door search in the neighborhood of Regatta and Sailboat with a K9. Police located Ansiel in the garage of a home on Pelican Court.

Ansiel was booked for murder while Steinman was booked for accessory.

Authorities identified the victim as 68-year-old Roma Reid of Tulare who was found murdered on October 21 in her home after a welfare check. Her death was the ninth homicide in Tulare this year.

Editors Note:
Per the homeowner of the home where Ansiel was located, they were not home at the time he entered the garage as they had left 30-minutes prior. The door was left open by their son by mistake. Ansiel was not staying at their home, but possibly at another home located on Sailboat Drive.
