To address changing traffic patterns with the completion of the Antioch BART station and the widening of Highway 4, Tri Delta Transit is making several changes to the current bus system.

Many of the changes are the result of input from riders who participated in public meetings to plan the system changes.

SYSTEM CHANGE SUMMARY

There will be a total of 20 bus routes to serve you compared to 17 currently.
Some existing routes will be divided into two separate routes. By creating two shorter routes instead of one longer route, on-time performance should be improved.
All bus schedules/departure times will be updated.
Scheduled time point locations will be updated on many routes.
Some routes that currently have timed route deviations (i.e. Route 383) will operate a fixed route without deviations.
Route 386 will be eliminated.

BART OPENING FAQs

The following information is being provided to address questions about bus service when the Antioch and Pittsburg Center BART stations open. While we do not yet have all of the information to answer every question, we want to share with you what we know at this time. Please read the information provided. WILL THE NEW BART STATIONS AFFECT BUS SERVICE?

Yes. Tri Delta Transit bus service will be modified to address the opening of the Antioch and Pittsburg Center BART stations as well as new traffic patterns resulting from the widening of Highway 4. Routes will change, new routes will be added, and times will change.

WHAT CHANGES TO BUS SERVICE SHOULD WE EXPECT?

When the new BART stations open, Tri Delta Transit will transition to a new and updated system and schedule. Many of the planned changes to our service are the result of direct input from our riders who participated in public meetings to plan our system changes. Your input is greatly appreciated. WHEN WILL BUS SERVICE CHANGE?

Since changes to bus service are directly tied to the start of BART service, and this exact date is not known, we cannot provide an exact date when the new bus service & schedule will begin. However, BART expects the station to open sometime in May, 2018. We will update this page as new information becomes available and we know it is accurate.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO EXPRESS ROUTE 300 TO BART?

Route 300 will continue to operate limited-stop service between Brentwood, Oakley, and Antioch BART. Route 300 will no longer continue to Pittsburg/Bay Point BART—it will end at the new Antioch BART station. All current Route 300 bus stops in Brentwood, Oakley and Antioch will remain the same. Route 300 cash fares will be lowered to the local route fare. The discounted multi-day and multi-ride pass price will not change.

WHAT OTHER CHANGES/REVISIONS TO CURRENT ROUTES CAN WE EXPECT?

Route 380 will no longer travel on E. 18th Street, Cavallo Road, and Wilbur Avenue (to Tri Delta Transit’s administrative office) in Antioch. It will start/end service at the new Antioch BART and travel to the Pittsburg/Bay Point BART station.
Route 383 will no longer be a loop. It will operate eastbound & westbound like other routes. It will no longer deviate through neighborhoods in mornings and afternoons. It will be a shorter, fixed-service route that travels from Tri Delta Transit’s Administrative office on Wilbur Avenue in Antioch to Grant Street in Brentwood.
Route 386 between Discovery Bay and Brentwood will be eliminated.
Route 387 will no longer travel to Tri Delta Transit’s administrative office on Wilbur Avenue in Antioch. It will use Cavallo Road and continue to the new Antioch BART station.
Route 390 will be shortened, ending service at the new Pittsburg Center BART station. It will no longer travel to Pittsburg/Bay Point BART.
Route 391 will be shortened, ending service at the new Pittsburg Center BART station. It will no longer travel to Pittsburg/Bay Point BART.
Route 393 will only travel between Brentwood Park & Ride and Antioch BART. To continue to Pittsburg/Bay Point transfer to Route 394 at Antioch BART

WHAT ABOUT PARKING AT THE NEW BART STATIONS?

ANTIOCH BART PARKING

When Antioch BART opens, the parking lot will no longer be available as a Park & Ride—There will not be parking available for bus patrons, carpools, ride sharing, etc.

PITSBURG CENTER BART PARKING

The Pittsburg Park & Ride on Bliss Avenue will become parking for the Pittsburg Center BART station and will no longer be available as a Park & Ride—There will not be parking available for bus patrons, carpools, ride sharing, etc.

BRENTWOOD PARK & RIDE

The Brentwood Park & Ride will remain available with free parking.

With the expected unavailability of parking at the Antioch and Pittsburg Center BART stations, we encourage you to look into the many local bus routes that serve these stations. There will be 14 local routes that will serve Antioch BART station and eight that will serve Pittsburg Center. At this time, we have no information about future locations for BART Park & Ride lots.
