The Brentwood Police Department put out the following message this morning using Nixle which advises commuters to use alternative streets due to road closures after a big rig overturned on Brentwood Boulevard at Sunset Road. The message was sent about 5:00 am so expect the roads to be open around 8:00 am.
As of 6:38 am, ECCFPD crews were still on scene.

The Brentwood Police Department advises you to AVOID Brentwood Boulevard at Sunset Road due to a current traffic issue.
A big rig rollover crash on Brentwood Boulevard near Sunset Road has closed Brentwood Boulevard from Sunset Road to Havenwood Avenue and will require a detour of traffic for the next 3 hours.
Details of collision: A big rig carrying produce lost a tire, causing it to rollover on Brentwood Boulevard just south of Sunset Road. The vehicle caught fire and became fully engulfed within minutes. There were no injuries to the driver, and personnel from East Contra Costa Fire have extinguished the fire. There was a diesel fuel spill as a result of the collision, with some fuel spilling into an adjacent creek. Fire crews are on scene proceeding with the clean-up.
