On Saturday, three people were injured in a crash on Vasco Road at Walnut Avenue that required one person to be airlifted to a local hospital.
The crash occurred around 2:40 pm in the middle of Vasco Road where a van crashed into a sedan which caused a shutdown of the roadway. Both vehicles were deemed a total loss after the “t-bone” crash which included a 12-inch intrusion.
According to Battalion Chief Ross Macumber, there were a total of four patients with one sustaining major injuries, who was flown to John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek. Two other patients had minor injuries and were ground transported. A fourth patient refused transport.
The cause of the crash was deemed as “unsafe driving practices”.
