The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Marine Services Unit saw a bit of activity during the traditional kickoff to boating season:
3 – B.U.I. arrests
11 – Citations
33 – Warnings
48 – Inspections (7 failed)
In addition, on Sunday, May 24, 2015, ten federal, state and local law enforcement agencies participated in the Delta Blitz boating safety enforcement and education operation. Many other vessels were stopped and examined and boaters cited.
It should be noted that there were no boating accidents during the weekend.
