PITTSBURG (MARCH 17, 2014) — The popular workshop about writing better applications for grants will be returning to Pittsburg this March 26.

“Because of the recession and government cutbacks, the need to find alternative sources of funding for a lot of the organizations that make up our social safety net is greater,” said Glover.

Local government agencies have also taken advantage of the workshops to secure funding for some of their projects, as they have found their funding cut back.

After holding seminars in Martinez and Hercules, Supervisor Federal Glover is returning the grant application-writing workshop to Los Medanos College. This is the sixth year the supervisor has been offering the free workshops, which are held twice a year.

Details of the seminar are:

  • SEMINAR: Writing Winning Proposals: Grant Research, Writing & Administration
  • WHEN: March 26, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • WHERE: Los Medanos College, 2700 East Leland Road, Pittsburg, Room L109
  • REGISTER: Online at www.cccounty.us/supervisorglover
  • COST: Free

Seating is limited so pre-registration is required online.

A light breakfast will be provided. Registrants are invited to bring a brown bag for lunch or go to nearby eating establishments.
