Supervisor Mary Piepho has hired Tomi Van De Brooke has her new chief a staff, a position that had been filled on an interim basis by Lea Castleberry.

This will be Van De Brooke second go around with Piepho as she left for another position in Dec. 2010.

“I am thrilled to be returning to work at the county level and in Contra Costa’s District III, where I will have exposure to both policy and constituent services on a daily basis. I enjoyed my tenure with, and have tremendous respect for, Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla but this change allows me to manage both constituent services and be closer to the policy decisions,” said Van De Brooke via social media.

Before entering Piepho’s office, Van de Brooke was a former republican and past president of the Contra Costa Council.

“I am very excited to, once again, work with the awesome staff and my cherished friends in Supervisor Piepho’s office,” said Van De Brooke.

According to Van De Brooke, Susan Bonilla will be in good hands as her new District Director is Satinder Malhi who was working with Senator Mark DeSaulnier.

Oh boy, What a treat. All the career politicians playing musical chairs and rubbing each others back need to be replaced. In this case I wonder if its more like they are using each other.
