Brentwood, CA – Supervisor Mary Nejedly Piepho announced today she has hired Tomi Riley (aka Van de Brooke), a Contra Costa native and 25-year public policy veteran, to be her Chief of Staff.

Tomi will manage Supervisor Piepho’s staff and support the Supervisor in her efforts to ensure efficient delivery of county services to District III residents.

“I am pleased Tomi has returned to head up my staff.  She is a pragmatic and collaborative problem solver and her insight will be of great value to the residents of District III and the entire county.” Commented Supervisor Piepho.

Tomi stated, “Mary is a thoughtful and effective leader and I am delighted to be back supporting her efforts and working with her awesome staff.   I am passionate about effective government and particularly admire Mary’s advocacy on water, transportation, economic development and her support of public safety.”

Tomi served on the Contra Costa Community College District Board and has owned her own business and worked in other roles in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Tomi, like Supervisor Piepho, was born and raised in Contra Costa County.

Supervisor Mary Nejedly Piepho represents the 3rd Supervisorial District that includes Antioch, Blackhawk, Brentwood, Bethel Island, Byron, Diablo, Discovery Bay, Knightsen, Oakley and the Tassajara Valley.

Brentwood office? Maybe we can get some information about possible fire consolidation going forward? I keep hearing about a 150 MILLION bond (tax) for the community college district coming to the ballot in June. Are they crazy? They already get a bucket of money from our property taxes. Aren’t we taxed enough?
