Solano County: $114 Million Illegal Marijuana Grow Uncovered on Ryer Island

by ECT

The Sheriff’s Office California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team (Cal-MMET) and our Resident deputies recently found 5 large illegal marijuana grows on Ryer Island just west of the J-Mack ferry.

In total, 10,133 plants were found growing along a 3-mile stretch of an irrigation canal last month and an additional 28,000 plants were found over the last few days. The marijuana growers trespassed and planted the plants on private property without permission, which resulted in the agriculture owner suffering multiple acres in loss or damaged crops. The estimated street value of the marijuana eradicated is $114 million dollars. All of the marijuana was removed and destroyed on-site.

Solano-County-Weed-Grow2The growers have not been identified and no arrests have been made in this case.

Illegal grows are like any illegal drug organization with many risks to community. Many of these illegal grows are on unsuspecting citizen’s private properties or in unwitting communities. These victims can be caught in the cross fire of violence that often surrounds drug sales (drug deals gone bad, armed take overs to steal the narcotics etc.). History has shown that the illegal growers are also arming themselves to protect their crops.

The environmental impact is also huge as the outdoor growers are using chemicals and pesticides which drain into the irrigation ditches and then respreads onto the normal crops nearby.

Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; 30and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so.…
the ones who prohibit cannabis will burn in hell , not only for the plant , but for all the lives you have destroyed and all the pain you caused in doing so .

Oh boy, Rev Maynard is on the pulpit again. I’m sure this was a “medicinal” crop, planted there by caring people who wanted to help those in need. Ha ha ha ha!

Actually that wasn’t my comment, but funny you should think that 🙂 Although I am totally for the decriminalization of this natural earthly organism that has evolved alongside mankind for so long (like so many of us are), I am also against these giant illegal growing operations (like so many of us also are). These giant grow ops often cause much damage, are often riddled with poisons that hurt animals and ruin waterways, etc. This is why it’s important for individuals to be allowed to grow small amounts for personal use, which is very different than these large scale mega-operations. Thank you Lord for cannabis. Peace ✌?️
