Update: Man Barricaded in Byron Now an “Officer Involved Shooting”

The Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office are currently staged on Hoffman Lane near Highway 4 working an active incident.

In an email at 7:15 am, Sheriffs Spokesman Jimmy Lee says they are working a barricaded subject on Hoffman Lane. Negotiators on scene trying to talk to person. Lee said was unaware of any hostages.

According to a 8:20 am update, Lee said that deputies went to serve an arrest warrant last night when the suspect barricaded himself inside. At 10:35 pm, AMR and Fire were requested to the scene as a precaution.

Update: 10:04 am: The sheriffs office has now stated the barricaded subject in Byron is now officer involved shooting. County wide officer involved protocol invoked. More details coming.

Update 11:00 am: Captain Dan Hoffman of the Sheriffs Department told Kron 4 that the 49-year-old man barricaded himself inside the home. The Sheriffs Department went to serve the man an arrest warrant of $1.5 million on three counts of molestation.
