Sheriffs Office Looking for Vehicle in Fairgrounds Homicide

The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff would like the public’s assistance in finding a vehicle that is believed to related to the homicide that occurred on September 8, 2013 at the Paradise Skate Roller Rink located on the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds at 1201 W. 10th Street in Antioch.

The vehicle is a 1999 Toyota Solara. It has two doors and is gold colored. The vehicle also has a spoiler. The license plate is California 5JLM717. The pictured vehicle (attached photo) is similar to the one linked to the homicide. The vehicle and/or the occupants may have ties to the Modesto/Manteca area, San Joaquin County or the city of Oakland.

31-year-old Amber Abangan of Oakland was shot to death on September 8, 2013. Early that morning, Deputy Sheriffs were dispatched to a report of someone brandishing a firearm at the Paradise Skate Roller Rink. They were told a fight had occurred at that location. Abangan was taken to Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch where she was later pronounced deceased. Two other shooting victims were taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with non life threatening injuries.

Shouldn’t it be pretty easy to find this vehicle since they have the plate number? All area police must have it on their BOLO list. I hope they catch the people who did this soon.
