The 13th Annual Youth Summit sponsored by Contra Costa Supervisor Federal Glover featured inspirational testimony, dancers, rappers, advice of all sorts including looking for a job, a career, starting a business, improving social media skills, recreational and educational opportunities and life beyond high school.
Keynote speaker Vernon Williams III captured the attention of the young people as he recounted the choices he made that led him from a promising career in professional baseball, his bad choices that led to doing time in prison and his eventual resurrection after prison to earn his college degree and his continuing work as a mentor to young people throughout Contra Costa County.
The ever-growing Youth Summit held at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg drew youngsters from throughout the county. Supervisor Glovers Staff provided me with the following photos of the event.
