Sacramento Sheriffs Office: Human Remains Discovered in Mokelumne River

The Sacramento County Sheriffs Office announced Sunday that human remains were discovered in the Mokelumne River and are now a investigating a homicide. The incident occurred around 9:30 am Sunday 150 block of Brannan Island Road

Sergeant Shaun Hampton stated that there was a fisherman who had located a bag containing with what he believed to be a bag full of human remains. Upon sheriff deputies arrival, confirmed that the remains were in fact, human.

According to Hampton, there is no known motive as of Sunday and the victim has yet to be identified. The incident is still under investigation and those with any information, are encouraged to contact the Sacramento Sheriffs Department at (916) 874-5115

This is horrible .. to happen to anyone.. how can a human do that to another human?? So scary is just a couple towns away
