by ECT

The Richmond Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating Lawyer Dushan McBride who is wanted on a $2 million warrant for murder.

On April 4, 2017 at around 8:45 AM, Richmond police department Communications Center received calls of a possible disturbance in area of 29th St. and Rheem Ave. While officers were enroute to the incident, dispatchers received additional calls of a possible shooting at the same location. Officers arrived and discovered a silver Jeep SUV stopped on Rheem Ave. at 29th St. The driver, later identified as 29 yr. old Rashanda Franklin of Richmond was found unconscious in the driver seat. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her gunshot wound in her upper torso area.

Officers also found two young children under the age of 10 in the backseat of Rashanda’s car.

Investigators learned that Rashanda was on her way to drop off her children at a local daycare facility this morning when she saw her estranged boyfriend, 43 yrs old Lawyer Dushan McBride in the area. Rashanda drove around the area in hopes of avoiding the suspect but he followed her in his 2007 silver 4-door Mercedes-Benz S550 (paper plates). When Rashanda arrived at the stop sign on Rheem Ave. at 29th St., the suspect drove his car ahead and in the path of Rashanda’s car. The suspect got out of his car, walked up to Rashanda, argued for a few seconds and shot her as the children watched. The suspect immediately fled southbound on 29th St in his car.

There is a $2 million warrant for the arrest of 43 yr. old Lawyer Dushan McBride of San Pablo for the murder of Rashanda Franklin. McBride is an African-American male who stands 5’09” tall, weighs 225 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.

Please help us and Rashanda’s family find the armed and dangerous suspect of this heinous crime. If you know his whereabouts, do not contact him. Instead, please dial 911 or call RPD Homicide Detective J. Wentz at (510) 621-1259.

We are relieved to report that the children were not physically harmed and they are with family members. Thank you for your help in this tragic incident.
