Richmond: Police Officer Finds Loaded Shotgun on Bicyclist

by ECT

Richmond — Police in Richmond announced that another loaded firearm is off the streets after a bicyclist was found carrying a loaded shotgun under his clothes.

A RIchmond Police Officer stopped the suspect riding his bicycle illegally. During the contact with the suspect, the officer saw portions of a rifle/shotgun sticking out of the shirt he was wearing. The RPD officer was able to arrest the suspect and take the loaded pistol grip shotgun away.

A search of the suspect revealed numerous packages of illegal drugs on him.

Richmond police reported that nobody was hurt from this potentially violent encounter with a suspect armed with a loaded, pistol grip shotgun.

The department noted it was proud of their officer’s observation skills, judgement and good tactics. Because of the officer’s actions, the community is safer with one less loaded shotgun on the street. GREAT JOB!
