Rep. McNerney Statement on Short-Term Funding Deal to Reopen Government

by ECT
Congressman Jerry McNerney

Washington, DC – In response to the announcement that a short-term funding deal has been reached to reopen the government through February 15th, Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-09) issued the following statement:

“After 35 days of chaos, the dedicated men and women of our federal workforce will finally be able to return to work on behalf of our country and receive the paychecks they have earned. While I am pleased we have reached an agreement, I also recognize that this is a short-term solution to a bigger problem.

“Throughout this shutdown, the House passed numerous bills to restore funding, but our efforts were repeatedly rejected. For over a month, our national security, our economy and the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of federal workers were jeopardized and used as a bargaining chip. This is no way to govern. Negotiations in Washington should not come at the expense of American security and prosperity.”

Rep. Jerry McNerney proudly serves the constituents of California’s 9th Congressional District that includes portions of San Joaquin, Contra Costa, and Sacramento Counties.

Jerry! C’mon! Don’t start with that! You KNOW your bunch is at fault! You and the other Dems are what’s keeping this country unsafe from invaders! If you don’t see that then you have no business representing anyone!

Oh stop it. And you’ve been terrified for your life from the “invaders” too right?? But they can maintain your yard tho…

My yard and those of my properties are maintained by a great team of African-American gentlemen who do a fantastic job. I’m financing their children’s college education. By the way, they are registered REPUBLICANS!

No matter what he really thinks, Jerry must tow the OFFICIAL PARTY LINE or he will be treated like a leper, won’t be considered for any committees and money for his favorite projects will dry up. That’s how it works for BOTH parties.

High time to get with the program and stop the invasion of our country by Third Worlders who can’t even read or write in their OWN language. If we take anymore people, they should be the ones who truly contribute in terms of merit. We, as taxpayers, need our money to go to help our own people.

The ball is in you’re court Jerry or the shutdown will begin again. I doubt that Trump will keep playing Pelosi games for too much longer. We need the security and reform at the border. Another 12,000 are on the way now. Build the wall , reform for existing illegal aliens here. Let’s move on.

Stop the invasion. We need (1) the wall, (2) visa overstay monitoring, (3) e-verify, (4) no public benefits for immigrants for 5 years. Dreamers can get a green card then, no citizenship.
