Rep. George Miller Endorses Mark DeSaulnier for Congress

by ECT

Mark DeSaulnier

CONCORD, CA— Receiving the biggest and most important validation of his candidacy, today State Senator Mark DeSaulnier secured a high-powered endorsement from California’s much-loved Rep. George Miller.

In endorsing Senator DeSaulnier, Rep. George Miller stated:

“I know Mark DeSaulnier exceedingly well. Mark is the most qualified and capable candidate to carry on my work in Congress on behalf of the residents in the 11th district. He is progressive, results-driven, and has a deep connection to the communities and neighborhoods in this district. Most importantly, Mark embodies the issues and values that I have fought for throughout my career.

We share a common passion and profound commitment to public service. Mark has had a major impact on key issues in our community — saving the county library system, building the county hospital, championing transportation improvements like the fourth bore in the Caldecott, fighting for the poor and vulnerable, and many other issues.

Mark brings enormous skill and integrity to everything he does. Whether it’s raising the federal minimum wage, reducing economic inequality, growing our middle class, protecting Medicare and Social Security, ending corporate tax loopholes that send jobs overseas, preserving our pristine California environment, or more, I know Mark DeSaulnier will continue fighting for the issues that my constituents care most about.

He will continue our fight in Congress for the world’s best education and healthcare systems, and he will strive to end poverty and inequality once and for all. I am fully confident that Mark will make a great representative for the 11th district.”

In response, Senator DeSaulnier released the following statement:

“Rep. Miller represents all that is great about public service. On a personal level, he’s been a significant role model and an inspiration for me, as well as to an entire generation of California leaders who strive to improve the quality of life for our state’s residents.

It has been a real honor partnering with Rep. Miller as an elected leader representing the people of Contra Costa County together for over two decades, and it’s a privilege to be his friend. He’s always been one of those rare leaders who’s remained grounded in the issues of working families even as he’s ascended to the top ranks of the Democratic Party in Congress.

In fact, I have a bookmark from Rep. Miller that says, ‘You are not in public service to sit on your ass and watch the parade go bye,’ and indeed we have not. Together, we’ve engaged and have empowered the residents of Contra Costa County, and we have given them a strong voice in their state and federal government. We’ve done this because we both love the people we represent and because we believe in this country and have fought for it’s survival and success for a long time.

It’s hard to imagine Congress without George Miller as our Representative, but I will do my very best, every single day, to live up to his work ethic, determination, and resolve for championing the many cornerstone issues he’s fought for in Washington on behalf of the residents in the 11th district.”

Currently, DeSaulnier represents California’s 7th State Senate district, which covers 70% of California’s 11th Congressional district. Previously DeSaulnier served Contra Costa County as a State Assemblyman, County Supervisor, and City Councilman.

I would not vote for this man if he were the only one running Those two are both bad for California. They keep running for office and always step up for each other please read up on him check everything then you will understand why I feel this way.

Voting for this guy is a vote in the wrong direction. Anyone else would represent the people better. Vote out career politicians before its too late.
