Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) released the following statement after receiving an update from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on the status of the two migrant girls who were separated from their families and held at a Pleasant Hill children’s shelter.
“I was informed by HHS that the two young girls who were separated from their parents and held at a children’s shelter in Pleasant Hill were reunited with their families within the last five days. While today is the deadline for the federal government to reunify all remaining families, 900 more parents have been deemed ineligible—many with a chance of never seeing their children again.
“After visiting the U.S.-Mexico border last week and witnessing mass deportations, I was saddened, shocked, and appalled. This is not the America I know that strives to live by the motto inscribed on the Statue of Liberty: ‘give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.’ Trump’s vision of America disgraces our country and erodes our values with its unethical, immoral, and illegal policies.”

The government already traffics kids away from their best interests for political purposes, it’s called Family Court. The whole child support system is a sham and hurts men on disgraceful levels.
I’m sick and tired of hearing about the poor kids who were separated from their parents while trying to illegally enter the US.
If the liberals, progressives, and DemoKKKrats want someone to blame, blame the parents whose lawlessness and belief that our laws don’t apply to them created this problem.
Reunite the families and send them back to whatever country they came from together and once they are home, let them apply and get in line and wait their turn like everyone else.
As a lifelong Republican, Army veteran and Christian I find your comments disturbing and not in any way a reflection of my Party or faith.
Republicans need to speak out against people like this. This is the type of ignorance and heartless behavior that’s dragging our great Republican party into the mud.

As I said in my Previous post. I’ll never vote for Trump again and because of people just like this. I’ll vote Independent if this is now what our party stands for. Hate, greed, wasteful spending, corruption- these seem to be the values of the Republican party now.

If you feel this way then I invite you to go to the Border with a bus, load it up with these illegal immigrants who you have no idea of their background or intentions and bring home with you.
See it easy for someone like you to condemn what our Border Agents are doing to protect our nation from individuals who believe they can enter our country and face no consequences, but YOU will sing a different tune if you are asked to prove your devotion to illegal immigration if you are asked to take these individuals into your home.
This issue has nothing to do with faith or religion. This is about following the law something you obviously think is left to your own personal interpretation. Breaking the law has consequences and that’s something you don’t seem to care about. When an American citizen takes their child with them and commits a felony the adult is arrested and taken to jail and the child is taken into custody by a government agency. This is a legal requirement. By your dillusional way of thinking we should make special exceptions for illegal immigrants who should not even be in our country!
As a Black Republican who has extensively researched the history of the DemoKKKratic Party and has witnessed firsthand the destruction it has and continues to cause in the black community, if refuse to vote for Trump again there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, if you prefer to vote for the other side feel free to do so knowing your vote will help promote the rise of the Socialist Party that has taken over the DemoKKKratic Party and enjoy the life they have planned for you!
Taking childern from their parents, even illegals, is just wrong. I want strict imigration laws but this is just wrong.
And to think I voted for Trump, I feel terrible. I’m sorry ya’ll, it won’t happen again, this isn’t what I voted for. I’m a lifelong Republican and I’ll never vote for a Liberal. However, I don’t think I can vote Republican again until my party regains basic family values and a moral compass.

As a black man, Navy veteran, and retired law enforcement officer I don’t care what color these individuals are that enter our country illegally. Our laws must be followed and those who enter the US illegally deported.

Regretful ……. We have over 20,000 immigration laws on-the-books right how. The problem is that they are not properly enforced. Those trying to get in here illegally are really not “immigrants” but invaders. An immigrant goes through a process to gain entry into another country to become a resident. B
By the way, those invaders were WARNED not to come to our borders and not to bring any children with them or they would be put in detention and their children taken away. They chose to ignore the warning.
The Statue of Liberty did not come with those “give me your tired, your poor, your WRETCHED refuse yearning to be free.” When France presented the statue to us, it was to celebrate our 100th anniversary as a country. Nothing was written on the statue’s base until much much later. The French presented the statue to celebrate LIBERTY, not IMMIGRATION!

Spoken by someone who has NEVER, EVER read the Constitution of the United States in which our Founding Father’s invoke faith and Christianity throughout its doctrine. This may come as a complete shock to you but the foundation of our Nation was based on Christian principals. It’s the primary reason the Pilgrims traveled to this country to escape religious persecution.
Some people really need to have a clue and know your history and know what they are talking about BEFORE you speak. So sad but I’m not surprised that liberals live in the land of make believe. I guess ignorance is bliss!
Since most Americas are moderates, arguing over Democrats or Republicans is ridiculous. Keep an even keel in the center, and weigh each candidate or issue by your own views – not 100 percent “party line.”
