On Monday morning, the Antioch Police Department gave pursuit to a vehicle in the area of W. Tregallas near G Street after police viewed a vehicle crash around 9:30 am in the City of Antioch.
The pursuit continued to James Donlon Blvd and then down Contra Loma Blvd before the suspect was taken into custody on Vista Way.
According to police, the vehicle was stolen, but had not yet been reported. During the pursuit, the vehicle struck an officers vehicle twice. While on Vista Way, the suspect was uncooperative and did not exit the vehicle. Police say the suspect was attempting to pull a wooden weapon on officers when the K9 was deployed. Police were able to pull the male from the vehicle into custody. The suspect did suffer a facial wound and medical was requested to the scene.
Police officers did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
UPDATE per Antioch Police
On 12/31/19 at approximately 0940 hours an Antioch Officer witnessed a driver commit a hit-and-run accident and attempted to stop the suspect (later identified as Donald Jackson from Pittsburg). Jackson fled, willfully evading officers and a pursuit ensued.
During the course of the pursuit Jackson struck an uninvolved civilian driver continuing to flee with no regard for public safety and also intentionally rammed an Antioch Police vehicle two different times.
The vehicle Jackson was driving was disabled by another officer by use of their patrol car. As officers attempted to take the Jackson into custody he tried to arm himself with a short table leg from inside the vehicle and fought with officers.
A police K-9 was deployed and apprehended Jackson.
The vehicle Jackson was driving was determined to be an unreported stolen car. Jackson was transported to a local area hospital for treatment for minor injuries resulting from the collision and K-9 apprehension. No officers or civilians were injured in this incident.

It’s really not good if you ram a police vehicle one time, let alone two times in succession! There are immediate consequences!
I love the wording “Jackson was transported to a local area hospital for treatment for minor injuries resulting from …. K-9 apprehension.” GOOD DOG! I hope that the K9 “apprehension” made the suspect a believer!
