Contra Costa Sheriff

At about 11:35 PM on Tuesday, a Deputy Sheriff attempted to stop a reported stolen Honda Accord on the Highway 4 Bypass. The vehicle did not yield and led the Deputy on a pursuit into Brentwood. The suspect stopped the vehicle in the area of Hawkstone Court and Presidio Drive and took off on foot. Brentwood Police assisted in the search for the suspect. A police K-9 located the suspect in the backyard of a home on Hawkstone Court. He was taken into custody.

The suspect is identified as 34-year-old Rodrigo Del Real of Brentwood. He was booked into the main jail in Martinez. His charges include felony evasion, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.

There was also an arrest warrant for him. Del Real is being held in lieu of $110,000 bail.
