Police Investigating Possible Kidnapping Attempt of Student Approached by Man Before School

The Antioch Police are investigating a possible kidnapping attempt Wednesday morning on Contra Loma Blvd at around 8:30 am.

The student was from Antioch High School and was approached by a man in the 7-eleven parking lot on Contra Loma Blvd. The female was asked to “come here” several times before she got into her car and left. She was then followed without further incident.

The student reported that the man was an African American in his late 30’s to early 40’s, approximately six feet tall, with short, thick hair driving a black Ford Explorer.

This is now the third incident in less than 2-months.

  • March 23 Incident: Antioch Police announced the arrest of Javonn Allen, 21, in connection with two attempted kidnappings of 16-year-old females. On March 23, 2015 at 9:34  am hours the Antioch Police received a call of an attempted kidnapping that occurred on Sagebrush Drive.

  • March 11 incident: the AUSD issued an alert for an attempted abduction of an Antioch Middle School student at around 7:00 am on the 2200 block of Sycamore Drive. The female described the black male as being in his late 30’s with an unshaven face, driving a white or gold vehicle that had an appearance similar to a PT Cruiser.

SAFETY ALERT AUTODIALER MESSAGE – April 15, 2015

This is Stephanie Anello, Associate Superintendent of the Antioch Unified School District with an important safety announcement. This morning at approximately 8:30 am, a female student at Antioch High School reported that she was approached by a man in the 7/11 parking lot located on Contra Loma Boulevard. The man asked her several times to ‘come here’. The female got into her car and immediately went to school. The man followed the student to the school but left without further incident. The student reported that the man was an African American in his late 30’s to early 40’s, approximately six feet tall, with short, thick hair driving a black Ford Explorer. The Antioch Police Department has been notified.  Please remind your children to never talk to strangers and to never  get in a car or leave with a stranger –even if he or she seems nice or says they are a friend of a family member. We will continue to monitor the area around the school and will alert the police and parents should we observe anything suspicious.
