Pleasant Hill Shooting Occurs During Attempted Purchase of Marijuana

by ECT

On Friday May 25, 2018 at approximately 11:32 am officers responded to the area of Santa Monica Dr near Sunvalley Blvd for the report of gunshots heard and a male on the ground waving for help. Officers responded to the scene and located a 27 year old male victim in the front yard of a residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his lower body. The victim was conscious when transported to a local hospital for treatment. He is in stable condition as of this writing.

A preliminary investigation suggests this shooting occurred during an intended purchase of marijuana. There is no current evidence to suggest the suspect(s) involved are local to the neighborhood where this incident occurred. It appears the scene was chosen at random and likely due to its proximity to public areas and the nearby freeway.

At this time the suspect(s) have not been identified, but our investigation is ongoing. Additional details will be shared as they become available.

Anyone with additional information regarding this case is encouraged to contact us at (925)288-4600.

Let the anti-marijuana rants begin.

Anti-Marijuana rants HA! Nope this is exactly they types of crimes, that are associated with drug dealing. However this used to only happen in the inner city! Now thanks to softer drug laws it happens every where.

I wonder how many more marijuana-related shootings or killings will happen now that the noxious weed is “legal?” We’ve had how many deaths thus far attributed to some idiot driving while STONED to-the-gills? Thus far, I can count 8, which includes and woman and two young girls killed a week ago. Remember the CHP cop? The guy growing the stuff in an industrial area of Pittsburg (Garcia Street)? Nice going, stoners!

Correlation doesn’t equal causation Lola. How about all the non-cannabis using drivers who crash and die every single day? Do some research outside of what Facebook spoon feeds you. I know many “stoners” who’ve never crashed their car, ones who hold advanced degrees, ones who raise their children fantastically, ones who are more gracious and peaceful than the average person. I think you need to experiment with the stuff. Do yourself a favor to start, research the endocannabinoid system. If you believe in a Creator, they created a system in our bodies for cannabis.

If you’re still doing drugs when you’re a parent, you’re not a “real parent.” If you can’t quit doing drugs, you shouldn’t have kids. What a great example for your children. Kids live what they learn.

Wayne May 29, 2018 - 8:19 am

Nick, so parents shouldn’t drink alcohol then right? Alcohol is a way worse drug and much easier for kids to get their hands on. I didn’t say they’re smoking weed with their kids, or in front of them.

Nick May 29, 2018 - 10:28 am

If you’re doing drugs – you shouldn’t have kids. Period. I don’t drink. I drank in moderation before I became a parent. I gave it up to be a “real dad.” It was one of the wisest decisions I’ve ever made.

Your parents must’ve been racist pieces of trash, Nick. That’s how you got to be the way you are since racism is a learned behavior.

WOW!!! Grow up already!!! May 29, 2018 - 1:59 pm

Nick is a realist. Take responsibility for your own behavior, and quit blaming everything on the white folks.

LD May 27, 2018 - 9:26 pm

Instead, lets make it illegal again because a few are idiots. Ok, lets do the same with alcohol (which includes wine fyi), and tide pods, and cars (because of the street racers) i could keep going, but point is made.

lola the suburban housewife who is probably popping more depression pills than people are smoking weed

Lola Saavedra May 28, 2018 - 1:25 pm

Sorry to disappoint you, Captain … But I’m not a housewife and I don’t suffer from depression. So there! Try again!

Brad May 29, 2018 - 11:55 am

@Nick maybe your kids won’t grow up to drink or abuse drugs because they don’t see that with you. However, they’ll probably mimic your discriminatory and borderline racist views since those are learned behaviors.

Melanie May 29, 2018 - 3:58 pm

You’re a chronic enabler. Quit seeing everyone as a “victim” and teach people to take responsibility for their own actions. Everyone has a little bit of racism in them whether they’re willing to admit it or not. At least Nick has guts. He tells it like it is. The truth hurts.

Wayne May 29, 2018 - 9:20 pm

@Melanie what are you even talking about? He’s bashing other people’s livelihoods with no merit just because they live differently. We all have guts, but we don’t have to bring race into it, some of us know our ethics and values. He’s a disgrace to what it means to be American and just some suburban shill. The true enabler is your president letting you people think it’s fine to be racist and discriminatory in 2018. Can’t wait for Mueller to get him out of office. Be racist behind the computer screen, you’d never say it in public to a brown mans face.

Wayne – I’m not a Trump supporter. I didn’t vote for him.

You can sure tell who are the stoners on this site. Wait until kids start to tackle the “edibles” and wind up in ER like they are doing in Colorado.

Maryjewana is not bad. It is great

Pam May 29, 2018 - 2:55 pm

If weed didn’t affect your ability to function properly like operating heavy machinery, I doubt drug testing would be used as a condition of employment.
