Pittsburg/Bay Point Line Will Run Every 20-40 Minutes East of Rockridge This Sunday

by ECT

On Sunday, November 12, BART will need to single-track trains through the Caldecott BART Tunnel as we perform maintenance work inside the tunnel that will result in more reliable service. The single-tracking is for the safety of workers. The work cannot be completed entirely outside of service hours and will start at 2pm. It will be completed before start of service in the morning on Monday.

Customers traveling east of Rockridge will experience the longest wait times. Some regularly scheduled trains may turn back between Orinda and Pittsburg/Bay Point.

Maintenance work will affect transfers/meets with other transit services, including BART transfers at MacArthur for customers going to San Francisco and the Peninsula from the Richmond Line.

Please plan to add an additional 20-40 minutes to your journey.

Also on Friday, November 10, we will be reducing some service on the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line.  Passengers on the Pittsburg-Bay Point Line during peak commute hours should expect 10-15 minute headways.  Also, Transbay trains will be operating as 8-car trains instead of 9-10 car trains.

Ridership is expected to be relatively low on Friday and we are strategically cutting back on car hours to preserve our legacy fleet.

We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
