Pittsburg Unified School District to Close Schools Friday Due to Air Quality

by ECT

In an email Thursday afternoon, the Pittsburg Unified School District announced that they would be closing schools on Friday, November 16, due to poor air quality.

Here is the message:

PUSD Community,

We have made the decision to close schools tomorrow, Friday, November 16th. I know that this has been a difficult week for many and I hope this day gives you some time to rest and get a start on the holiday vacation next week. As difficult as it has been, our thoughts remain with those who have lost so much. We will resume school on Monday, November 26th. Please see the message I sent yesterday for more detailed information on the Air Quality Guidance for Schools. We will send out some more information later on places you can go for relief and guidance for managing your family’s health during this time.

We appreciate all of your support and understanding.

Thank you,

Janet Schulze
Superintendent

These kids will be out in this air quality all day now. They are better off being forced to stay inside the classroom.
