The Fairfield Police Department announced the arrest of a Pittsburg man during a probation search operation that resulted in SWAT being called in.

Police said that on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, they were conducting a probation search in the 2700 Block of Applewood Drive.  One person fled from the scene and barricaded himself in a neighboring residence.  Officers learned the man was wanted on a felony warrant out of Contra Costa County.

Police stated it was unknown if the suspect was armed, but he had been known to carry firearms in the past.  Based on this information, the Fairfield Police SWAT Team was called to the scene to bring the suspect out of the house and safely arrest him.

At approximately 7:45pm, SWAT utilized a loud diversionary device while making announcements into the house.  The suspect then walked out of the house and peacefully surrendered.

The suspect has been identified as 32 year old Pittsburg resident Anthony Grande.

Grande was booked into jail for the outstanding warrant.
