The Pittsburg Police Department announced Monday that they are investigating a homicide that occurred in City Park on Sunday.
According to Captain Albanese, at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, officers responded to the eastern portion of the Pittsburg City Park, near 17th Street and Railroad Avenue, in regards to a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene within 90 seconds of receiving the call and located a 20 year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Pittsburg Police Officers immediately begin performing lifesaving efforts on the victim. The victim, a resident of Pittsburg, later succumbed to his injuries on scene.
The Pittsburg Police Department Investigations Division responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
Albanese stated that based on initial information, it is unknown if the victim or suspect knew each other.
Detectives are currently contacting witnesses and obtaining additional statements. No additional information was provided and the victim name is being withheld pending notification.
This is the city of Pittsburg’s seventh homicide of the year.

I didnt know this young man ..but I am with Crystal and Tammy and their opinion..People need to refrain themselves from saying mean or rude things..This is someones son and brother and friend..IF YOU CANT SAY ANYTHING NICE THEN DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL..So many people are so heartless and rude now-a-days..I am so sorry for all of your loss..
