The Pittsburg Police department announced Sunday evening they are investigating a homicide that occurred just after 3:00 pm Sunday.
According to Police, at 3:02 pm, Pittsburg police officers responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Carpino Avenue. A 48 year old male Pittsburg resident was found deceased in the driveway of a residence.
A second gunshot victim, 43 year old male Pittsburg resident, was later located at a local hospital. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening at this point.
According to Captain Ron Raman, on their initial investigation both victims were in front of the residence when an occupant from a vehicle shot them as they drove by. Detectives and CSI are actively working this investigation and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
This is the third homicide of the year.
