Update: Pittsburg Police Say Daughter of Murdered Parents Attempted to Stage Crime Scene, Confesses

The Pittsburg Police are investigating a double homicide of of elderly parents that occurred on Friday, July 7.

Pittsburg Police Captain Ron Raman confirmed early Saturday the homicide and that it occurred in the 4200 block of Diehl Way.

The suspect is the parents daughter.

11:00 am Update

On July 7th at 10:30 in the morning, officers responded to a residence in the 4200 block of Diehl Way.  The female caller, who was later identified as our suspect in this case, stated that her parents were deceased inside of the residence.

Officers located two deceased victims inside of the residence.

The victims had been stabbed multiple times and appeared to have been deceased for a few days.  The suspect, who was contacted at the residence, later confessed and was arrested for the murder of her parents.  The suspect made attempts to stage this incident to look as if this was a mutual combat amongst her parents as well as attempted to clean the scene prior to calling the police.

The suspect was identified as Menique Lashon 50 year old female residing at the residence with her parents.

She is currently in custody county jail on murder charges.

The victims in this incident were 67 year old female and a 73 year old male.  This incident is still under investigation and more information will be provided as it becomes available.

  1. Evil , cold hearted and calculated. She deserves everything she gets. Should be the death penalty. What kind of evil person does this to their parents? Sickening

  2. I knew the father from work for many years before his retirement. A wonderful and kind man. I am stunned and saddened

  3. I knew the mother from working with her for 20+ years. Both were good, upstanding people. Kay (as we knew her) was a kind and loving person as well as an excellent cook. They helped to raise their grandsons. I spoke with her the week before about their retirement. Such a terrible loss of dear friends and to the community.
    My condolences to the families.
