Pittsburg Police Investigate Tuesday Morning Shooting

Just prior to 6:00 am Tuesday, Pittsburg Police officers responded to a shooting in the area of West 11th St. and West St where they located a 19-year-old Pittsburg resident who was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

According to Captain Raman of the Pittsburg Police Department, the victim was unresponsive and was transported to John Muir Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Raman said at this point in time, it is not known if this shooting is related to our homicide last week.  Last week, 22-year-old Dominque Thomas became the city’s second homicide victim this year.

Based on information police have obtained in this mornings shooting, so far the victim in this case was the intended target.
